Bavarian State Award for Head of Gold and Silversmithing
Johannes Kuhnen, Head of the Gold and Silversmithing workshop in the ANU School of Art, has received a Bavarian State Award for his artistic vessel forms made from anodised aluminium and titanium.
The award, which is given by the Bavarian State Government in Germany each year, recognises outstanding contributions to the decorative arts and design.
Johannes' work was selected from the invitational exhibition Meister der moderne. These pieces were first shown in 2009 in his travelling exhibition A survey of innovation at the School of Art Gallery.
